GRE @ 1:33 pm

I am taking the GRE General test in 2 weeks. It is not coming as naturally to me as the LSAT. In fact, for awhile I have thought that my practice scores are unexpectedly bad. I just took one an hour ago and got 570 on verbal (78th percentile) and 600 on math (53rd percentile). (No grade for the writing section, but I like to think that it would have brought me up a bit.) But then I checked out some of the score reports that the Powerprep software offered:
Average Verbal Scores, Other Fields Average Math Scores, Other Fields So my scores are above average for “Library and Archival Science” master’s students. I also noticed this:
Average Verbal Scores, Humanities Average Math Scores, Humanities (Sorry, to lazy to make these ones look nicer.) Which clearly proves that philosophy is the most intelligent discipline in the humanities!

GREs @ 11:12 am

Concentrating in philosophy has prepared me for only one section on the GREs, and seemingly the least important one in terms of graduate school admissions. I am almost positive that my vocabulary and my basic algebra and geometry skills are worse than when I had just graduated high school, not that they were ever that great. Bah humbug. I guess this will all be an experiment in how much studying can help improve my score.
