After she graduated from Brown, my mom spent a year as a community organizer in Providence. Accordingly, I took special offense to Sarah Palin and Rudy Giuliani’s derogatory remarks at the Republican National Convention. It’s embarrassing and kind of painful to see how many people in the audience laugh along with the remarks.
