Daniel Fisher is a professor of theoretical physics – a group he admits has a deserved reputation for being arrogant. “A friend of mine who was dean of humanities and sciences at Stanford told me that he finally met a group that was more arrogant than theoretical physicists, ” says Fisher. “And that was the mathematical economists, and Larry’s a prime example.”
